The Role of Governance
Governors and Trustees are volunteers who bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to support our schools.
Their role is strategic rather than operational and includes:
- Setting the vision and strategic direction of the Trust and its academies.
- Holding school and Trust leaders to account for educational performance.
- Ensuring public money is spent effectively and delivers value for money.
- Supporting a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
- Promoting the welfare and achievement of every pupil.

Members
Members have a strategic oversight role and hold the Trust Board to account for the fulfilment of its charitable objectives.
Board of Trustees
Trustees are responsible for the strategic leadership of the Trust and for ensuring effective governance, financial oversight and accountability.
Local Academy Boards
Local Academy Boards support individual schools, providing local knowledge, challenge and community engagement while operating within the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation.
